English duo Everything But the Girl teamed with house maestro Todd Terry on a remix of “Missing,” which went on to dominate dance around the world and bring deep house to the mainstream, with the track peaking at number two on the Billboard charts in 1995.
As the genre and culture evolved to reach global expansion over the years, one thing is universally evident: producers who can ignite the dance floor also come correct with chill vibes, showcasing the breadth of their talents. Canadian DJ and producer Jayda G, who is known to bring the heat, brings a chill vibe on “Circle Back Around,” while Jamie xx features hypnotic flavor on “Let’s Do it Again.” Sam Gellaitry, who garnered early attention for his synth-pop-inspired tracks, has been dropping ethereal dance cuts like “Alone.”
