As the saying goes… “You can’t judge a book by its cover.” With that in mind, BEAU does not look like an MC, at all. You can say that’s his charm. He is a songwriter, filled with self-understanding stemming from his life experiences and spirituality. He writes and performs his music as a teacher, sharing his worldly lessons in ways that are easily understandable and relatable, without sounding preachy. At his core, he is still a Hip Hop Head and loves to rap for the sake of rapping. BEAU has been labeled as an MC’s MC by his peers, and is a lover of the East Coast Boom Bap sound which is evidenced in his work. He relies heavily on his wit and wordplay using intricate rhyme schemes and a powerful delivery to make his presence known. Some of his biggest influences are Wu Tang, Common, Big Daddy Kane and Brother Ali. BEAU also has 10+ years of producing under his belt. His beats are jazzy and can easily switch between samples and original compositions, while blending them together for a larger-than-life journey into sound. He has produced albums and songs for himself as well as local South Florida artists like Rawkus 50’s contest winner Protoman. He also produced a track for New Jersey’s Hip Hop duo Equal Dose that features the Hip Hop legend El Da Sensei of the Artifacts (By the way, El Da Sensei absolutely shines on that song!) His biggest influence as a producer is The RZA of Wu Tang followed closely by Pete Rock. As the main producer and fellow rapper in the group Brokensound Blvd in the mid 00’s, he went out on his own producing his next 3 albums. His latest, “Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover”, is a 13 track project full of self-reflection and empowerment sprinkled with braggadocio lyrics and the main message, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” He is incredibly honest in his writing and is willing to look at himself, bearing all with no shame.
