TVYO Tees Valley Youth Orchestra Tees Valley Tees Valley Youth Orchestra Tees Valley Youth Orchestra is the flagship full size orchestra of Tees Valley Music Service, drawing on the best music students from the four Boroughs of Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, and Stockton, and indeed from all over the North East of England. The orchestra often provides a stepping stone for students progressing to a career in music, and many students from the orchestra also play in National Youth ensembles. The orchestra has toured abroad on many occasions, combining forces with their vocal counterpart, Tees Valley Youth Choir. In recent years they have visited France, Spain, Italy, Belgium and the Czech Republic. The tour of the Black Forest in 2012 included a memorable performance on the Johann Strauss stage in Baden-Baden. In 2013, the orchestra was selected to perform in the National Festival of Music for Youth at Symphony Hall in Birmingham. They also gave a memorable performance of Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony in King’s Hall in Newcastle. TVYO is delighted to have been invited to perform in the prestigious Florence International Festival of Youth Orchestras in 2014.
