Schola Cantorum Leipzig

The Schola Cantorum of Leipzig was founded in 1963 and became the official children's and youth choir of the City of of Leipzig in 1982. Today more than 300 children, youth and young adults are members in the early music education, the "sparrows choirs", the children's choir, the internationally renowned girls' choir, the women's choir and the chamber choir.
Every year the various ensembles are singing in more than 40 concerts for over 10,000 listeners in Leipzig and in some cases far beyond. Therefore the Schola Cantorum of Leipzig is one of the largest and most active choral formations of central Germany, important local educational institution, as well as an ambassador for the City of Music, Leipzig.
