Aaron Hopkins and Dillon Ames found it while riding mopeds through a Denpasar intersection. It described exactly what they were trying to build.
Seven years on, the project lives up to the name. Technically grounded, emotionally direct, genre-resistant — their catalog spans Anjunadeep, Insomniac, Armada, This Never Happened, Monstercat, and SHÈN. "Illusive" held #1 on the Beatport Breaks chart for six months, with airplay on BBC Radio 1, NPR, KCRW, and Sirius XM, and support from Sasha, Bicep, Tale of Us, Pete Tong, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Sub Focus, Deep Dish, and Korolova.
In 2026, Warung releases on Interstellar Recordings and SHÈN, and steps onto the quantumVALLEY stage at EDC Las Vegas. The sound has evolved — more club-driven, more kinetic. Still entirely theirs.
